Don was my eighth grade Social Studies teacher and then, in one of those "full circle" moments, many years later performed the funeral for my mother in 1991. He always had such a kind way about him and always had a smile for you. I remember him fondly and I know your family will miss him terribly.

Don wasn't biologically related to me, but I have always considered him my uncle. Before my mom, Norma, was engaged to Don's brother, Mac, he always treated me like I'd always been his biological niece. I LOVE my UNCLE DON very much and will miss talking to him on the phone but I KNOW I will see him when I get to Heaven.

Bro. Don was our pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church. When my father-in-law was hospitalized for an extended period of time, he visited him every single day. That was the kind of pastor he was. I will always remember his smile, sense of humor, and his down home approach to preaching the gospel. He has definitely left his legacy of living the faith imprinted on many lives. I am grateful for his impact on my life. God bless and keep each of you during this time.

Shirley and I are quite saddened by this news of Don's passing. I knew him during his years at Hobson UMC. Don was a good friend as well as a pastor and mentor in my formative years. I'll always love him for that. To his family, we say we are so sorry for our loss.

Mike and I want to share our love to all of the family, and express our sympathy
on Don's passing. Cousin Don was always smiling whenever we saw him, and later
when we visited him in McKendree Manor, he always kept that same smile.
He left a great legacy of love and caring.
