passed away November 19, 2018.
Don was preceded in death by parents, Wilfred & Elizabeth King; and brother, Thomas (June) King.
Survived by wife Kathleen (Bitsy) King; children, Rick King, David (Hajdi) King, Roger (Terry) King, Clif (Terry) King; grandchildren, Devon (Tamara) King, Asher (Laurie Munz) King, Emily King (David) Thompson, Rachael (Ady Barkan) King, Lucy King, Darren King, Adam King, Mia King; great grandchildren, Vincent King, Violet King, Cole Thompson, Garrett Thompson, Hallie Thompson, Carl King; sister, Martha (Billy) Fallaw; former spouse Dorothy King and a host of family and friends.
Don graduated from Hillsboro High School, attended the University of Tennessee, and served his country in The US Navy in WWII. In his earlier years, he delivered telegrams by bicycle for Western Union, was a bellboy at The Hermitage Hotel, sold cars, started the first rolling restaurant in Nashville, worked for National Life and eventually entered the construction business which led to a more than 50 year career in the international dredge industry.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Don’s honor to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held early July.
