Donald "Don" Ray Rich

Donald “Don” Ray Rich passed away on October 22, 2026. He was born on July 25, 1948, in Paris, Tennessee, and will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the many things he enjoyed throughout his life.

Don was the proud owner and operator of Rich Heating and Cooling for over 56 years. Through decades of hard work and dedication, he built a lasting legacy and formed connections with many people along the way.

Outside of work, Don was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He also loved keeping up with his favorite sports and following the excitement of horse racing. These interests brought him joy throughout his life, and the time he spent enjoying them became part of the memories his family and friends will always cherish.

Don is preceded in death by his sons, Ronald Rich and Stanley Kester; his grandson, Ryan Rich; his brothers, David Rich and Jimmy Rich; and his parents, Haywood and Bertha Rich.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Rich; his children, Don Rich, Jr., Gina (Todd) Golden, and Robin (Mike) Phetteplace; his grandchildren, Rachel (Delfino) Cervantes, Josh Rich, Ashley Campbell, and Katelyn (Ben) Walker; his great-grandchildren, Jaquelyn Cervantes, Joshlyn Cervantes, and Rhett Walker; and his sisters, Peggy Steffno, Cindy (Jim) Cummings, Joyce (Ed) Swinson, and Linda (Gary) Campbell. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Don’s life was defined by his dedication to his work, his love of golf and sports, and the relationships he built throughout the years. The memories he created with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will remain a treasured part of his legacy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m., and the burial to follow. All services will take place at Hermitage Funeral Home 535 Shute Lane Old Hickory, TN 37138.

Don will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
