Dora was a woman of unwavering faith whose life was centered on her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A devoted Christian, she was a longtime member of Donelson Church of God and later became a founding member of Generation Changers Church, where she treasured the friendships and church family she found throughout the years.
She found joy in life's simple blessings. Dora loved spending time outdoors, taking walks with her beloved dog, Curly, listening to gospel music, and sharing a good meal with friends. She had a fondness for baby dolls, stuffed animals, and hats, and she was rarely seen without her signature bow adorning her hair.
Dora was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harrial "Wayne" Barrett. This month would have marked the couple's 50th wedding anniversary, a milestone that speaks to the enduring love they shared.
She leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews, along with numerous church friends and extended family members.
Dora's legacy is one of love, faith, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, yet those who loved her find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.
Visitation will be Friday, July 24, 2026 from 9:00am ~ 10:00am with a Celebration of Life at 10:00am at Hermitage Funeral Home 535 Shute Lane Old Hickory, TN 37138. Dora will be laid to rest next to her husband at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
