Sue was married to Don for 60 years, raising 5 children of her own and dozens of others through her work as a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader. "Mama Sue", as she was called, volunteered with everything from concessions to team mom to score keeper, uniform fitter, and candy sale organizer for Donelson Civitan Girls Softball League. Sue even became a travel mom for away games and tournaments. She worked at Wal-Mart in Hermitage in the Fabrics section before retiring and volunteered at Donelson Station Cafeteria. "Mama Sue" babysat for children in the Hermitage area for years helping to care for several who returned with their own children when a caregiver was needed. She was known as "Mama Sue" by most anyone that knew her in the Hermitage area. She loved George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Johnny Cash. She fulfilled a lifelong wish to see George Jones perform in person at one of his last concerts. She loved to garden, paint, read and sew. Her favorite author was Mitch Albom. She also loved animals and her faithful companion, Max, will also miss her greatly.
She was always more concerned for others than herself and made sure if someone was in need she would help any way she could. She was a great cook and passed down her favorite recipes to anyone that asked.
