Dorothy J. "Dot" Ussery

She was born in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Graydon C. Johnston and Cecelia Ann Lachine Johnston. Her work career included time at DuPont, owning a knit shop with her mother, and working at the former Castner Knott. She devoted her time to serving her community, and volunteered at Room in the Inn, Shepherd’s Center of Madison, and Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Ussery was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and sewing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Ussery Jr.

She is survived by four sons, Michael (Beth) Ussery, Bill (Debra) Ussery, Jody (Lori) Ussery, and Tommy Ussery; seven grandchildren, Tonya Haynes, Brandon Ussery, Brittany Ussery, Tony Ussery, Marshall Ussery, Patrick Ussery, and Anne Elizabeth Ussery; nine great grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 11:00 am.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm, and Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church from 10:00 am until 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

Serving as active pallbearers are Marshall Ussery, Brandon Ussery, Tony Ussery, Jacob Haynes, Steve Powers, and Justin Campbell, and honorary pallbearer, Patrick Ussery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepherd’s Center of Madison, 1219 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, Tennessee 37115, or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1225 Gallatin Pike S, Madison, Tennessee 37115.
