Douglas C Van Tassel age 62 passed away October 1, 2014. Preceded in death by father, Ray Van Tassel, brother, Fred Van Tassel. Survived by children, Danny (Ginger) Van Tassel & Mike (Mindy) Van Tassel; 3 grandchildren, Anna, Evan & Erica Van Tassel; mother, Era J Van Tassel and a host of family and friends. Doug retired from Joelton fire station 30 aftr 31 years serving Metro as a Fire Engineer. Doug was a wonderful father, grandfather and son, and will be missed by all. Doug love for life and zest for laughter would light up any room Doug never met a stranger. Visitation Friday October 3rd 3pm unitl 8pm and Saturday 11 am till time of service. Funeral Service Saturday, October 4th 1pm in the Hermitage Funeral Chapel interment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardensactive pallbearers are Bill Radcliffe, Eddie Lewis, Doug Rogers, Billy Dillingham, Frank Harris, Randall Thompson, Billy Bailey, Stubblefied.
