He was born and raised in Old Hickory, TN.
Mr. Cherry is survived by his loving wife Virginia Cherry; son Chad (Megan) Cherry and grandson Eric Cherry.
He is preceded in death by his sister in law Minnie Reeves Brown.
Private family services will be held at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
