Edwin L Human

HUMAN, Edwin L., age 77 of Hermitage, TN, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Summit Memorial Hospital after complications following surgery. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Lou and Lillard Human of Oneida, TN. He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Nell Frances (Smithson) Human; three daughters, Lisa (Larry) McCormack and Cynthia Human of Nashville, and Leann (Jack) Hilliard of Knoxville, and one grandson, Steven McCormack of Nashville. A long-standing member of Hermitage United Methodist Church, Ed also volunteered as a Flying Ace at the Nashville International Airport, and performed in plays with the Donelson Senior Center for the Arts. For nearly 20 years, he worked as an executive with the Boy Scouts of America, and served as camp director of Boxwell Boy Scout Reservation in Gallatin during the 1970s. He later worked at Temtex, Tenlite and BlackGold. He served in the US Army National Guard for 10 years. Ed graduated Oneida High School in Oneida, TN in 1952, and Middle Tennessee State College in 1956. Visitation is Wednesday, May 9th from 4 - 8 p.m., at Hermitage Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Hermitage United Methodist Church Thursday at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Hermitage United Methodist Church
