Ed joined the U.S. Navy April 9, 1951, and honorably served our country for 34 years. He was awarded The National Defense Service Good Conduct Award, Navy Occupation Service Award, Vietnam Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation, and Combat Action Ribbon. After retiring from the Navy, Ed moved to Nashville, TN where he spent the next twenty years as a real estate professional. In 2017, Ed moved to Arcadia Senior Living in Bowling Green, KY. He was very happy and loved his Arcadia family. Ed loved Tulip Grove Baptist, which he attended faithfully until his health declined. He was a lifetime member of The Gideons International, where he served on the Membership Committee and State Treasurer. He always had a Gideon testament in his pocket to present to anyone he met. Later, he carried them on his walker making sure he was always ready to share God's Word.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Frank and Ray Clancy. He is survived by his children Patricia, Michael and David Clancy, and his “adoptive” family that loved him very much: Ken and Reba Speakman, Charlotte Speakman, Shannon and Dan Harrison, Carol and Dale Miller, Sloane, Eric, June and Ryman McCrery, Caroline, Eric, Lillian and Madelyn Mauldin, Allyson and Cole Roberts, Riley and Bryson Nimmer, Reagan and Alex Kearns, and Reese Miller.
Per Ed’s request there will be no funeral service or visitation times.
Because of Ed’s love for the Gideons, please make contributions to the Gideons International, 50 Century Blvd, Nashville, TN 37214 or to Alive Hospice, 5872 Scottsville Rd. Bowling Green, KY 42104.
