Eugene F Grah

Eugene (Gene) Grah, Sr. passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026 at the age of 96.He was born on August 25, 1929 in St. Louis Missouri to Frederick and Julia (Amelong) Grah. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Maureen (Hubert) Grah.

Gene was a proud veteran of the U.S Army serving in Korea. He spent over 35 years working in various positions and advancement through Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1986. Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, father-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, mentor and cherished friend who dedicated his life to his family and community especially

through his volunteer work as president of the PTA of Griffith Elementary and Scoutmaster and District Commissioner with Boys Scouts of America. He enjoyed camping, fishing and other outdoor activities. He brought love, joy and fun wherever he went. He was a long time member of The United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his sons: Eugene, Jr. (Ellen), Robert (Jacqueline), Douglas (Gina), John (Rob), Glenn (Ronda), Lawrence (Kristi) and daughter Diana (Michael) Anderson. He was blessed with grandchildren: Robert (Jeanna) Anderson, James (Abigail) Anderson, Michelle (Grah) Chappell (Will), Caroline (Grah) Gammon

(Dale), Robert (Emily) Grah, Curtis (Courtney) Grah, Nathan (Jada) Grah, Neal (Jamie) Grah, Lindsey Grah and Joseph Grah. Step-grandchildren: Andrew (Andy) Proctor, Winfred (Al) Jordan and Taylor (Collins) Hannah (Ryan). Gene’s legacy will continue with great-grandchildren: Aidan, Vivienne, Millicent and Dries Anderson,

T.J. Gammon, Lottie Chappell, Paxton, Pace, Pierce, Declan, Killian and Eloise Grah.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
