Floyd D Hicks

A visitation for Floyd will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138. A funeral service will occur Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138. A burial will occur Saturday, November 28, 2020.

Floyd Donald Hicks, 89, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed on to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. He was born in Jersey City, NJ on Sept. 21, 1931 and later grew up in Nunnelly, Tennessee before serving his country while in the Navy during the Korean War.

He was married to Doreen Miller Hicks on August 5, 1956 in Coronado, CA and his wife predeceased him in November of 1999. He was in the retail business at the Coronado Men’s Store in CA before moving to Nashville, TN where he became the Shipping Supervisor of The Gideon’s International. He retired from The Gideons after thirty-one years and greatly enjoyed those years because it involved sending the Word of God in every language to countries all over the world. He was a man of God who frequently shared his testimony of salvation and about his walk of faith with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Floyd always gave a smile and words of kindness and encouragement to everyone he met.

He is survived by his son Donald Hicks and spouse Tricia, daughter Cheryl Hicks Settle, son Michael Hicks and spouse Kirsten; predeceased by son Billy Hicks. Survived by grandchildren Matthew, Mark, Melody, Chloe, Brooke, Nikki, Emeigh, BJ, and four great-grandchildren.
