George Ella (Edwards) Storey

George “Ella” Edwards Storey, age 97, passed away September 28, 2018 in Hopkinsville, KY. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Storey; son, Benjamin Storey, Jr; daughters, Mary Francis Storey and Glance Mae Lanford; grandson, Johnny Rich.

She is survived by granddaughter-in-law, Theresa Rich of Darby, PA; grandson, Bobby Lanford and wife Julie of Hopkinsville, KY; great-grandsons, Bobby Lanford, Jr and wife Courtney of Hopkinsville, KY and Thomas Rich of Murfreesboro, TN; great-granddaughters, Ashley Russell Salinas and husband Marcus of Poteet, TX and Kassidee Rich of Darby, PA; great-grandchildren, Clay Rich of Smyrna, TN, Mathew Allsman of Nashville, TN, Joseph Allsman of Philadelphia, PA, Stacy Wiggins of Nashville, TN, Jackie Allsman of Philadelphia, PA and Jaylin Maya of Hopkinsville, KY; great great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Caitlyn and Caleb Lanford of Hopkinsville, KY, Aiden Salinas of Poteet, TX.

Ella was a native of New Market, AL. She then moved to Antioch, TN for 31 years before moving to Hopkinsville, KY for 2 years. She loved working in the yard, planting flowers and mowing grass. She raised yorkies for a living and loved cooking for her family.

Ella was a strong willed woman. She never believed in doctors but would an aspirin and a vitamin every day in addition to staying active. She prayed every night before she went to bed while placing her hand on a picture of Jesus.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN with Bro Jud Hays officiating.
