He was born in Nolensville, TN. Gerald was most comfortable outdoors, whether he was on horseback or on the golf course. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and worked as a cabinet maker for MDHA. He had an extensive arrowhead collection and was secretly a talented artist.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Linda Huffman; sister, Mary Ann Hamer, and brother, Thomas Hamer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Huffman; two sons, Gerald Hamer “Chip” (Susan) Huffman Jr. and John E. Huffman; two step-sons, P. Brocklin “Brock” (Leanne) Parks and Steve (Karen) Parks; eleven grandchildren, John E. Huffman II, Kathryn E. Huffman, Kristena Huffman (Rhett) Butler, W. Alex Huffman, Will Huffman, Connor Huffman, Sam Parks, Emily Parks, Zoe Parks, Jake Parks, and Luke Parks; three great grandchildren, and several other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm with the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm in the chapel.
Military Honors & Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gerald to Boy Scouts of America or the Monroe Harding Orphanage.
