Gerald Dean Rolen

Gerald Dean Rolen, age 79 of Hermitage, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Preceded in death by his brother and sister in law, Bill and Mary Rolen; brother, Charles Rolen; sister, Anna Emogene Rolen; sisters and brother-in-laws, Ruby (Ira) Crump, Margaret (Tony) Gregory and Clara (Harold) Gilstrap; son-in-law, Stan Ragan; brother-in laws, Barney Withers and Dan Simmons. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Patsy; son Tim (Robin) Rolen; daughter, Tammy Ragan; sisters, Wanda Withers and Lota Simmons; grandchildren, Alicia, Sarah, Andrew and Rebecca Rolens; great grandchildren, Julian and Justice Rolen. Gerald was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was retired from the Metro Fire Department with 40 years of service. He also served as Treasurer for Union Local 140. The family will receive friends from 2 until 5 pm on Sunday, December 11, 2016 and from 11 am until Noon on Monday, December 12, 2016 with a Celebration of Life Service at Noon. Chaplain Charlie Vance officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
