

Geraldine “Gerry” Johnson Huffine, of Old Hickory, died October 22, 2018 with her loving family around her. She was born March 28, 1933 in Nashville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Luster Johnson and Mamie Elizabeth Johnson.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, October 25th at 1pm at Phillips-Robinson Hadley Chapel in Old Hickory, officiated by Kyle Sullivan and Doug Thiesen of Cross Point Church.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24th from 4-8pm and Thursday, October 25th from 12pm until the time of service at 1pm. Burial will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
She was a graduate of North Nashville High School and graduated from MTSU, Summa Cum Laude. She was honored to be Miss Tennessee in 1954 and Top Ten Runner Up for Miss America.
Gerry married Col. Billy Filmore Huffine on December 20, 1957. She attended Cross Point Church at the Mt. Juliet campus. She was a faithful attender with her family each week.
Gerry is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Billy Filmore Huffine, her brother, Raymond Johnson, and her sister, Lois Pyrdum.
She is survived by her four sons, Billy Filmore Jr. (Sheryl), Steven (Pam), Timothy (Kristi), and Brian; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sister, Dot Goad and brother Bruce Johnson (Jearl Ann).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Nashville Rescue Mission.
