She was born January 13, 1937 in Lakeland Florida to Miles Harmann Shiver and Ida Bell Shiver.
Gladys, Mom, Maw Maw, and Gigi - to those who love her - was a very gifted individual. She played trombone on her high school band, and was a proficient and talented pianist. She also sang with friends and family throughout her life.
She worked as an administrative assistant for many years receiving accolades from those she served. In her later years, she helped take care of grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a vital part of their lives.
She loved the Lord from a young age and was a great influence to many.
Through the years, she was her husband Fred’s right hand in Church music and other ministries.
She is survived by her husband Fred; son Steve (Tootie) Hess of Spencer TN; daughter Vicky (Rick) Adams of Mt. Juliet, TN; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great- grandchildren.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 10:00am -11:00am in the Tulip Grove Room at Hermitage Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00am. Interment following in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
