Glenna Lee McKelvey, 74, of Hartsville, Tennessee, passed away on January 21st, 2021.

Glenna, born on October 16th, 1946 to Glenn and Edna Perkins in Youngstown, Ohio, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Glenna went on to graduate from Poland Seminary High School. After graduating from high school, Glenna went on to pursue an Associates degree at Youngstown State University.

In 1975, she met Doug through the church bowling league and the two were inseparable from that point on. Glenna and Doug were married for over 43 years and had three children, James(J.G), Sara, and Jennifer.

Glenna was a fiercely dedicated mother to all of her children, raising all three of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to Glenna, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

Glenna was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Edna Perkins. She is survived by her husband Douglas McKelvey, children James (J.G.), Sara, Jennifer. Her granddaughters, Brittany, Nicola, Nora, great granddaughter Hazel, and her brother Bill Perkins.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Glenna’s name to The Nashville Zoo. Please join us for the memorial service via Zoom starting at 1:30 pm.

Glenna and I were high school
classmates. She was always very kind and had a warm smile for all. She and I were among the shortest in the class as well as having last names beginning with P so we were often lined up close to each other when we needed to do that. I also remember her dad had a fantastic reputation as a carpenter and did some lovely work on my family’s home. My deepest sympathies for your loss.

I was a high school classmate of Glenna. I maintain a contact and email file for the Poland Seminary High School class of 1964 and would be happy to pass along to Glenna's class anything you might want to share.

Please accept my deepest condolences . I loved the picture of Glenna and Sara (Brown) that Sara just posted as her Facebook profile picture. That is how I remember Glenna so many years ago.
