Gloria “Beanie” Ford, age 80, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026.
Beanie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Michael Ford; her parents, Thomas and Jacqueline Pitts; and her brothers, Wayne T. Pitts and Terry R. Pitts.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tracy Young (Joe); her brother, Jeffrey T. Pitts (Julie); her cherished nieces and nephews, Keeley N. Pitts, Kyle R. Pitts, Cody T. Pitts, and Thomas C. Pitts; as well as her great-nephew, Terry Pitts, and great-niece, Jackie Pitts, all of whom she held close to her heart.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Beanie spent much of her adolescence in Savannah, Georgia. She went on to attend St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, beginning a remarkable career as a Registered Nurse that spanned 45 years. Her dedication to caring for others was not just her profession, but her calling. She touched countless lives with her compassion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping those in need.
Beanie made her home in Nashville, Tennessee, where she spent her adult life building a legacy centered on love, family, and service. She had a deep love for animals and a gentle, nurturing spirit that extended to everyone she met. Above all, she was devoted to her family, always putting their needs before her own.
Gloria will be laid to rest at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor her memory may make donations to her favorite organizations: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ASPCA, Nashville Humane Association, or St. Joseph’s Indian School.
Beanie will be remembered for her warm heart, her dry sense of humor, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hermitage Memorial Garden on March 28, 2026, at 2:00pm.
