Gloria Faye Tinnell

My Sweet Momma Gloria Faye Tinnell passed away last night July 31, 2025. She was known by both Mrs. Tinnell and Mrs. Hale by many kids thorough her public school teaching career. She graduated in January 1968 the same month she turned 21. She was married at 15 (Dad was newly 17) he finished high school and she got her GED to make sure she went off to college with him. A first child at 18 and graduated on time. She went on to teach over 30 years and had five children and multiple grandkids and great grandkids.

No parent should bury a child, but my momma and daddy had to bury three. I know last night my momma not only met Jesus, but she had a reunion that was pure joy. I know Joey pushed to the front. It’s been 26 years since she had seen him. I miss my momma already, but I know she’s pain free and happy.

She is survived by her children Michael (Shelly) Hale and Amy (Chris) Lawson; her sister Gayla (Stephen) Combs; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, also many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Sue Tinnell; son Kevin (Dana) Hale; Daughter Kristy Lacuniak and son Joey Hale.

Gathering of family and friends Tuesday August 5, 2025 from 12:00-2:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00pm in the Tulip Grove Room also at Hermitage Funeral Home. Burial following Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
