Mr. Knight was born in Double Springs, Alabama, to the late Archie and Ludie Knight.
He graduated Winston County High School in 1946 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served in the Pacific. He then attended the University of North Alabama where he graduated in 1951. He retired as a District Sales Manager from Kraft Foods after 39 years of service. He was a member of Two Rivers Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Harold Knight and sister, Hazel Gilbreath.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eva M. Knight and nephew, Glenn H. Gilbreath of Richmond, VA.
Military graveside services will be held 12 pm Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Hermitage Memorial Gardens with brother Sam Mallory and Rev. Ray Moss officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the Hermitage Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the America Heart Foundation or the charity of choice
