Herbert Elvis Vickers Jr., age 63, died October 24, 2026. Born November 9, 1962, Herbert will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude by all who knew him. A steady presence and a devoted family man, he carried himself with quiet strength and a sincere care for those around him, leaving an enduring mark on the lives he touched.
Herbert was a resident of Hermitage, Tennessee. He is survived by his sons, Zach Vickers, Casey Vickers, and Christopher Vickers; his brothers, Zellie (Tracie) Vickers and Scot (Michelle) Vickers; his sister, Melinda Lewis; and his grandsons, Jackson Fonseca, Aiden Vickers, Jayden Vickers, and Ashton Vickers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Bobbie Vickers, and his daughter, Felicia Vickers.
Visitation will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Hermitage Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
Herbert’s life was defined by steadfast devotion to his family and an honorable way of moving through the world—reliable, grounded, and deeply valued. His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will live on through the family he loved and the many who will continue to hold him in remembrance.
