Hershel R. West Jr.

WEST, Hershel R., Jr., age 61 of Mt. Juliet, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. Mr. West was retired from CSX Railroad. He was a Vietnam veteran with the U.S. Army from 1971 – 1975 and a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. Preceded in death by his father, Hershel R. West, Sr.; sister, Joretta West Bilbrey and brother, Johnny Dwight West. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara Smith West; mother, Stella West; son, Brandon Harvey; daughters, Sara West (Jason) Hendricks and Lauren West Kendall; grandchildren, Piper and Graysen Harvey; sisters, Janet West (Edmond) Busey and Joan West; brothers, Kenny (Sherry) West and Denny (Jamie) West; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Billy Friel officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as Active Pallbearers. Don Hall, Charlie Pruitt and Tommy Jones will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 pm Monday.
