Hilary Edward Hailey II

Hilary Edward ("Ed") Hailey, II, age 83, of Wilson County, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 11, 2023. He was born on June 25, 1940, in Nashville, TN, to parents, Hilary Edward and Anna Jewel Hailey.

Mr. Hailey served in the U.S. Navy, as well as U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and Air Force Reserve. He earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee where he developed a lifelong love of learning, and he devoted many years to the Metropolitan Health Department in Nashville, retiring from his role as the Director of Clinical Services in 1989.

He enjoyed many passions throughout his life that included woodworking, cooking, and genealogy, and was a longtime member of Hermitage Church of Nazarene.

Mr. Hailey is preceded in death by his father, Hilary Edward Hailey, Sr.; his mother, Anna Jewel (Stevens) Hailey; and his brother, Steve Moore Hailey. Mr. Hailey is survived by his children, Pam Rice (Ron) and Sheri Raymer (Ross); his grandchildren, Stephanie Miller (Jason), Austin Rice (fiancé, Teal Gang), Kristy Ross (Robert), Ross Raymer, III, and Garrett Raymer; and his great-grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Silas Miller, Franklin Ross, and Alexander Ross (due in November 2023).
