Howard N. (Bubba) Franklin Jr.

Hermitage, TN

Born September 22, 1928 in Fountain Head, TN, Howard went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the age of 85.

Preceded in death by his wife, Nell, and parents, Howard and Pauline Franklin.

Survived by sister, Virginia (Jinnie) Nash and brother, James (Jim) Franklin. Loving father of Dawn Robertson (Barry), and Dana Cunning (Gary); proud grandfather of Cody, Christian, Summer and Chelsea, and a great friend to Sarah, Cody and Adriana.

Howard was raised in Old Hickory Village and was a longtime member of Old Hickory Church of the Nazarene. He retired from the Ford Glass Plant in Nashville. Howard will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband, father, grandfather, a good Christian man and a proud US Navy Veteran. His enjoyment of life and love of singing as well as his sense of humor and strong but gentle nature will forever stay with all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Old Hickory Church of the Nazarene with Dr. Harold Graves officiating. Interment will follow at Springhill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Hermitage Funeral Home and 1-2 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
