

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy H. Ousley, father, Charles A. Henry, his wife of 64 years, Doris Bucci Henry and his son in law, Fred C. Ayers.
Jim, often referred to as “Mister Kitchen”, was the respected and successful owner of Henry Kitchens for over 35 years until his retirement in 2000. He was a gentleman in all phases of his life and was always willing to help someone less fortunate than himself.
He is survived by his four devoted daughters, Laura H. Ayers, Patricia H. Butler (Mickey), Rebecca H. Dempsey (Bob) and Michele H. Atwell (Jim). He is also survived by his brother Major General (Ret) Charles R. Henry (Sandy), grandchildren, Melissa Herrera (David Diggs), Erica Steakley (Clay), Patrick Brown (Natalie), Megan Hartless (Mark), 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces of nephews. In addition to his family, Jim leaves behind devoted friends, Kim Webb, Maunetra G. Hunter, Dr. Kent White and Gretchen White.
Services will be held at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 14544 Lebanon Road,
Mt. Juliet, Tennessee at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2017. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 AM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim’s name to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the staff of McKendree Village Assisted Living, the employees at Ascera Care, Dr. Jean Lessly, the 5th floor staff at Summit Hospital and the devoted employees of Alive Hospice.
