James Earl (Jimmy) Jackson, 78, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. He was born April 29, 1943 to the late Carl and Cora Belle Jackson in Robertson County, Tennessee. Jimmy was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A life-long Baptist, Jimmy was a long-time member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church and a current member of Victory Baptist Church. One of his favorite memories was of a mission trip he made to Africa where he helped dig wells for villages needing water.
Jimmy was a lab supervisor for DuPont until his retirement. He, then, moved from Hermitage, Tennessee to Mount Juliet, Tennessee.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Douglas Jackson, and his second wife, Linda Fambrough Jackson.
Jimmy was part of a large and loving family. He is survived by his son, James Earl Jackson, Jr. (Jim), his wife, Andrea, and by his daughter, Jennifer Jackson Lavely. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Malarie Woods Parks (Stephen), Miranda Jackson Nobles (Jared), Brent Michael Lavely, Brock Montgomery Lavely (Alyxx), and Bo Garrett Jackson. Jimmy had one great-grandchild, Dorothy Wren Parks, whom he adored. He is also survived by brothers Wayne Jackson (Jane), Bob Jackson, Gordon Jackson (Sandy), Gary Jackson; and by sisters Martha Jackson Barnes (Harold) and Carlette Jackson Hardin (William).
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends in the Tulip Grove Room at Hermitage Funeral Home on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 1pm – 3pm and Monday, August 2, 2021 from 9am – 10am. The Celebration of Life will begin at 10am. Interment will follow immediately in the Garden of Memories at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
