Jerry Cavender

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Virgie Cavender; siblings Sue Ralph, Joe Cavender and daughter in law Tammy Darlene Wilkerson Cavender.

Jerry is survived by his wife Peggy Cavender; children Jerry Wayne Cavender, Jr., Peggy Jennell Cavender (John Patrick) Crabbe, Barbara Darlene Cavender Long; step grandchild Jessica LeAnn Augustine; grandchildren Katherine Michele Lazo, Joshua Daniel Crabbe, Juliann Ashley Crabbe, Jeremy Nicholas Crabbe, Matthew Tyler Long, Alexander Ryan Long; step greatgrandchildren Spencer Bryce Floyd, Bentley Jay Kinn; nephew Terry Wayne Ralph as well as numerous nieces, nephews friends and loved ones.

Jerry was married to his loving wife of 56 years, Peggy. He was a great father and grandfather. Jerry will be remembered for his generosity and the warmth he brought to those around him.

He worked as an ice supplier for many years and owned Jerry Cavender’s Ice Service that was started in 1980. In his personal time, Jerry enjoyed westerns, travel, bowling, and cruising, passions that brought him joy.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 4:00pm ~ 7:00pm and Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 1:30pm ~ 2:30pm with a Celebration of Life at 2:30pm and the burial to immediately follow all at Hermitage Funeral Home located at 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138.
