

Above all, she was a devoted wife and partner to her husband, Brad Pennington, whose love and loyalty were the foundation of her life. Joni also had a deep and lifelong affection for dogs, finding years of comfort, companionship, and happiness in their presence.
Joni will be remembered for her vibrant personality, generous heart, and the way she made people feel welcome wherever she went. Her songs, her words, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Joni was predeceased by her father, Don Wilson (1993), and her step father, Wallace Green (2019), and her father-in-law, Elbert ‘Bert’ Pennington (2021).
She leaves behind her devoted and loving husband, Brad Pennington; her mother, Carole Wilson Green; her brothers, Michael Wilson (Della), Mark Wilson, and Luke Wilson (Lisa); and her sister, Julia Conlon (Marty).
Joni will also be deeply missed by her two little loves, Roxy and Mojo, who brought her endless comfort and joy.
She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family members, dear friends, and the many dogs whose companionship meant so much to her throughout her life.
Those who knew and loved Joni will remember her for her warmth, her vibrant spirit, her love of music and laughter, and the deep affection she had for the dogs who so often shared in her life and brought her comfort and joy.
Brad and Joni’s families would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many family members, friends, and neighbors who offered such loving support over the past year and a half. Words cannot fully express their gratitude for the kindness, prayers, and compassion shown during this time.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Community, 14544 Lebanon Rd in Old Hickory on Monday, March 16, 2026. Visitation with family and friends will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to gather in the church hall for food and refreshments until 2:30 p.m. The inurnment will follow.
