Verda and Jeff. Daddy called and told me of Joe's passing yesterday. I was so sorry to hear this. He was daddy's best friend through out all of these years. I remember all the good times you, Joe, mama, and daddy had over the years. You and Joe were some of the few people that could make daddy smile with the good sense of humor you both had. I remember when Joe spray painted VANDY on one of daddy's cow he had put up in his barn. I'm not sure if daddy ever got even but he didn't mind in the least bit. That how good friends are. I also remember the story about the time me and Jeff tried to keep our hands warm one cold morning before school. Mama never let me forget that one. Not many people have a friendship that lasted as long as Joe and daddy's. One day we will all meet in heaven and be together again. You, mama, Joe, and daddy can play cards, laugh, and be happy while me and Jeff try to stay up all night watching TV like we used to do when we were kids.
God Bless Joe and all of his family.

Verda, I was so sorry to learn of Joe's passing. It is a blessing to know that he will no longer suffer from his physical pains.

Sandra and I decided it is best that we not go to the funeral home tonight due to the possibility of bad weather. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.
