John Russell Tidwell, age 84, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. He was born on November 16, 1940 in Hickman County, Tennessee, to parents, Wallace and Ruby Nell Tidwell.
John is preceded in death by his father, Wallace Tidwell; his mother, Ruby Nell (Russell) Tidwell. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Cherie L. Tidwell; daughter, Debra Lynn Simpson of McMinnville, Tennessee; and daughter, Cynthia Denise Tidwell of Nashville, Tennessee.
A Gathering of Family & Friends for John will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hermitage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will occur Tuesday, December 31, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Tulip Grove Chapel of the funeral home with Jerry Burchert officiating. Following the service, John will be laid to rest in the Garden of Faith at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
