

John Zabaski, age 99, passed away of natural causes at 10:00 am on the morning of July 11, 2015 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. John was born in Ansonia, CT, on October 9, 1915. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Tuz and Peter Zabaski. He married the late Helen Harriet Dziekan of Derby, CT, on October 5, 1944. They were married for 53 years and are survived by one daughter, Joan (Sonny) Carpintier, and three sons, Peter (Laura) Zabaski, Michael (Marcy) Zabaski, and John E. Zabaski; six grandchildren, Karina T. Robinson, Amy N. Keane, John Alexander Zabaski, Jennifer H. Beecroft, Yvette M. Swanbom, and Donald J. Carpintier, Jr.; and eight great grandchildren. John served his country in the United States Navy for 22 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He then attended Tampa University in Tampa, FL, and graduated within three years in 1962. He was employed by RCA Factory Service in Nashville, TN, as a brand manager and retired in 1977. John resided in Mt. Juliet, TN for 48 years where he was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Community. Funeral Mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at St. Stephen Catholic Community, 14544 Lebanon Road, Old Hickory, TN 37138, with Officiant, Father Pat Kibby. Entombment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Alex Zabaski, Billy Robinson, Loren Balman, Bob Patterson, Wade Nelson and Bill Frasch will serve as Pallbearers.
