Johnnie B. Bass

Johnnie B. Bass passed peacefully into Jesus' sweet arms in her home Sunday, May 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was raised in the First Baptist Church in Old Hickory and was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church.

She had a passion for fashion and was a buyer for the exclusive clothing store, Chester's, where she retired after twenty five years. She loved to dance, travel with family and friends, and enjoyed her flower garden. She lit up a room with her incredible smile, laughter, wit and poise. Her wisdom and insight was an influence that will guide us in the way we will live the rest of our lives. Preceded in death by husband, James Howard Bass, parents, William & Mona Allen, brothers, Robert Allen, Harold Allen; sisters, Corrine Allen, Ann Evans, Patty Willis; Survived by loving children, Carla (Wayne) King, Susan Cobb; grandchildren, Lynn (Steve) Dugas, Troy Cobb, Chad (Lynn) Cobb, Robbie King, Neal Cobb; great grandchildren, Tyler, Christian, Kalli, Austin, Kaci; brother, Martin Allen; sister, Jean (CJ) Judd; travel companion, Jimmie Sue and a host of family & friends.

Gathering of family & friends Thursday, May 19th 4-8pm and Friday 1- 3pm. Funeral Service Friday, May 20th 3pm in the Hermitage Chapel with Pastor David Hill officiating. Interment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
