Karen graduated from Hinton High School, earned her Bachelor’s in accounting at South Western Oklahoma State University and enjoyed working in cost accounting. After a 5-year professional career she was able to stay home full-time and take care of her family. She devoted her life as a Christian, helping her boys to grow in God’s love, a kind heart towards others, and accepting Jesus as our Savior. As a loving wife and mother, she put the needs of Alex, James, and George above all else.
Cooking, gardening, and raising her children brought her immense joy. Her love for animals was evident in her care for her Koi fish, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mimi”.
Karen had a very loving heart, reaching out to those in need. She volunteered at the church’s kitchen, went Christmas shopping for families, and brought her kids along so that they may learn God’s kindness.
Karen’s cooking was the most memorable of her many talents. Our family’s favorite meals were when the food on the table was all from the garden that she tilled, planted, and prayed over.
Karen’s love was so great and overflowing it is impossible to list all the lives she has touched on this side of heaven. Upon entering heaven she must have heard from the Lord, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Karen will be greatly missed by very many people.
Karen is survived by her husband, George von Dollen, sons; James (Breanna) von Dollen and Alexander (Jamie) von Dollen; and grandchildren; Aubrie von Dollen and Anakin von Dollen.
The family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Nashville Rose Society.
