Kathryn Marie Heughan, 83, passed away on October 17, 2020. She and her sister, Betty Marlin, were raised by their parents, Floyd Marlin and Catherine Pauly, in Hermitage, Tennessee, on the edge of Percy Priest Lake.
Kathryn attended Donaldson High School, then married Thomas Heughan and raised their five children: Richard Heughan (Carol), Floyd "Randy" Heughan, Ronnie Heughan, Darrell Heughan (Tatyana), and Linda Heughan Batson (Jerry).
Kathryn endured the losses of her husband, Thomas, in 1989, son, Ronnie in 1998, second husband, Albert, in 2001, and son, Floyd, just this year. However, she also experienced great joy with granddaughters, Lauren Batson and Rachel Batson, whom she doted on and loved beyond measure.
Kathryn enjoyed raising boxers in her younger years, but in her later years was content with her lap dogs, Sugar Bear and Susie. She had tremendous courage and spirit, even as she lost first, one leg, and then the other. Cooking and cleaning while standing on one leg and later her power chair was a force of nature.
She loved being outside and took care of her plants and flowers every day. She loved Disney and Mimosas on Christmas Day. She will be missed terribly as she brought joy and love into the lives of everyone she met.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 4 pm until 7 pm and on Thursday, October 22, 2020 from 12 pm until 1 pm. A Celebration of Life will begin Thursday, October 22, 2020 in the chapel at Hermitage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
