

Leonidas “Leo” Bolarte, age 89 of Madison, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015. Born in Chiquian, Peru, South America, he received his Agronomist-Agriculture Engineer Degree from the University of Agraria La Molina in 1950. Leo was a Professor of Sciences and Economics in Peru at the Inca Union Seventh-day Adventist College when in 1954 he was called as a Missionary Administrator, Thereafter they traveled in the mission field to Argentina, Bolivia and different parts of Peru holding administrative positions in Seventh-day Adventist colleges and served with devotion. In 1966, with a dream of furthering his education in Agricultural Sciences PHD, he moved his wife Celia and 3 beautiful daughters to the United States from South America. His middle daughter Vilma Celia was tragically killed in a car accident in 1973. They were blessed after a short stay in Chicago to be invited to move to Madison, Tennessee to provide a Christian Education for their three daughters. Leo worked as a Medical Technologist (BS-ASCP) at TCMC and retired from Memorial Hospital. His wife Celia received her Degree in Nursing and became an RN. They both worked very hard to provide a great life & Christian education for their family. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Celia Bolarte; daughters, Gladys Victoria (Bob) Davis and Sonia Elisa (Carl) Casler; grandchildren, Vicki Rene Holder, Scott Steven (Jenia) Hudgens, Sr., Landron “Lan” Hudgens, Jr., Blake Davis, Juli Glisson, Marie (Marcus) Clayborne and Rachel (Orry) Vanns; great grandchildren, Melissa Fuston, Scott Steven Hudgens, Jr., Kimberly Hudgens, Kelly Rene Wakefield, Darren Duncan, Travis Harmon, Caleb and Noah Glisson, Gavin Gomez, Mason Vanns, Hayden, Kendall and Caylee Clayborne; 7 great great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alyssa, Vanessa, Shaun, Tilaya, Isiah and Wade. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ignacio Silverio officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Carl Casler, Steven and Lan Hudgens, Caleb and Noah Glisson and Gavin Gomez will serve as Active Pallbearers.
