Preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years, Dorothy Louise King.
Survived by his children, David W. King of Nashville, TN, Daniel P. King of Mt. Juliet, Katherine Simes (Ed) of Thornton, NH, John L. King (Cathy) of Wildwood Crest, NJ, Carolyn King-Pennekamp (Robert) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Jeanne Johnston (Matthew) of Nashville, TN, James King (Lisa) of Mt. Juliet, TN, Stephen King (Amy) CW3, U.S. Army Aviation of Fort Rucker, AL; sisters, Rona King-Pehrson (Michael) of Walnut Grove, CA and Laura King-Daetz of Meadow Vista, CA ; mother-in-law, Ruby Mills of Randolph, MA; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick and Carol Fletcher of Randolph, MA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014, in Covenant Presbyterian Church, 33 Burton Hills Blvd, Nashville, TN 37215, with Pastor Jim Bachmann and Pastor Wayne Herring officiating. Burial will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
