

Lillie was born February 10, 1934 at Russell Hill (Macon County), Tennessee to George Archie and Altha (Shrum) Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Altha Jenkins, her stepmother Betty Alvis, and brothers Billy George Jenkins, Jim Jenkins, and George Jenkins.
Lillie is survived by her sisters Ruby (Hunt) McFarlane of Ft. Myers, FL, Annette (Marshall) Hamric of Cuyahoga Falls OH, and Kay (John) Inch of Akron, OH.
Lillie was the proud mother of seven children Wayne (Susan) Story, Carol Adams, Glen Story, Shirley (Marty) Bell, Ralph (Kay) Story, Janet Story, and Nancy (James) Smith. She was grandmother to fifteen grandchildren, Jeff (Amy) Story, Kevin Adams, Josh (Lindsay) Story, Jessica (James) Moses, Nina (Jon) Cavitt, Kurtis (Kristen) Adams, Fabian (Elizabeth) Story, Jamie (Trey) Kimbro, Valerie Story, Jennie (Ronnie) Hutchings, Lindsey (Brent) Bauer, Becky (Carlos) Camarena, Brooke (Rodney) Kelly, Renae (Bill) Lemen, Marty (Kristyn) Bell, and Grandmother to twenty-seven great grandchildren.
As a 14 year old girl, attending a church revival with a neighbor, Lillie was saved at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Bro. FW Lambert was pastor and Calvin Gregory was assisting. Lillie went to the alter that night and was saved. The next day, she told all about being saved. Later in life, Lillie and her husband, Woody, attended Rayon City Missionary Baptist Church, where they both joined the church. They were both baptized on October 27, 1957 in Mansker Creek in Goodlettsville TN. Woody was later called to preach and Lillie was very active in the church, supporting her husband in the ministry.
Lillie spent her life devoted to her family and raising her seven children. She had a love for travel and collecting bells. She and Woody loved traveling in their RV. They were able to visit all 48 contiguous states, as well as making a seven week trip to see Alaska with their close friends, Sue and Paul Johnson. Lillie also loved spending time at Ocean Lakes Resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where she enjoyed exploring the resort riding in a golf cart.
Visitation with family will be Monday from 4pm till 8pm and Tuesday from 12pm till service. Celebration of life will be held 1 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home with Bro Steven Brooks, Bro Luke Spurgeon and Bro Kent Collier officiating. Interment to follow at Hermitage memorial Gardens with Grandsons Jeff Story, Kevin Adams, Josh Story, Fabian Story, Marty Bell, Kurtis Adams, Trace Kimbro, and Hayden Moses serving as pallbearers. Additionally, the family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and nurses of Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care and love they showed Lillie during her illness. An extra special thank you to Bethany, Jennifer and Amanda.
