Linda Faye Cooper was born on August 21, 1945, in Old Hickory, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Myra (Sands) Proffitt. She and Raymond Cooper were united in marriage on March 24, 1990.
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Linda was an extraordinary quilter. She taught herself to embroider and make bows and enjoyed spending time at craft fairs selling her wares. While raising her sons she enjoyed antiquing and attending their sporting events. Above anything else she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Cooper departed from this life on November 27, 2021, in Nashville, TN at the age of 76.
Linda is survived by her husband Ray; two sons- Steve Bailey (Karla) and Stan Bailey (Angela), a stepson Glenn Cooper (Sandy) and a stepdaughter Shelley Cooper; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two brothers James Proffitt (Alma) and Gary Proffitt (Diane) along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Cooper was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Thelma Barrett.
A visitation with family will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens from 12:00-3:00pm in Hermitage, TN. The graveside service will follow at 3:00pm.
