Lynda Langley Sanders

Lynda Kay Langley Sanders, 80, of Hermitage, TN, left this world and reached her home in Heaven on July 17, 2026. Her earthly road was not always easy, but through it all, she remained faithful to her Lord and devoted to her family.

Born August 14, 1945, Lynda was the first-born child of Author (Curl) and Edith Autry. As a first child, she was a rule follower, which served her well in academic excellence and in service roles with her church.

She married Randy Langley in 1967, and during his tour in Vietnam, she gave birth to their first son, Travis. Ten years, several moves, and three more children later, they moved to Hermitage, TN, where they raised their family of four kids, Travis, Troy, Nicci, and Amanda, and became involved with the Hermitage Church of Christ.

Lynda was a devoted Christian servant, working and volunteering in the church as Bible school teacher, Mothers’ Day Out teacher and Director, and youth camp cook.

After the unexpected and devastating passing of Randy in 1992, Lynda began working as an administrative assistant at Lakeshore Heartland. While working there, she met and married Ronald Sanders. Later, she worked as an account clerk for the State of Tennessee. She retired from the State of Tennessee in 2022 due to medical complications.

From 2019 until her death, Lynda battled life-threatening and debilitating medical issues. While these conditions wracked her body, she never lost herself, her quiet wit, her love for her family, her contentment, or her love of Christ. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering, and she was committed to serving Him and His children throughout her life.

She is survived by her children: Travis (Stephanie) Langley and their children, Merideth and Maddie; Troy (Alison) Langley and their children, Kale and Evie; Nicci (Matt) Francis and their children, Jesse and Avi; and Amanda (Brandon) Whitlock and their children, Bowen and Dillon; and her husband Ronald Sanders. She is also survived by her brother, Kim (Denise) Autry; her sister, Elaine (Jimmy) Sandel; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Edith Autry, and her husband, Randy Langley.

Visitation will take place at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN. 37138 on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 4:00pm ~ 8:00pm and Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 10:30am ~ 11:30am with the Funeral Service starting at 11:30am.

Lynda will be interred with her husband Randy at Nashville National Cemetery in Gallatin, TN.
