

Born in Edmonton, Alberta Canada on November 21, 1932, Madeline also lived in British Columbia, Canada, Haiti, and Springfield, MO. She studied at Burman University and Madison College Academy. She moved to Tennessee as an adult and was later naturalized as a U.S. Citizen.
Her life was marked by her love of family, friends, entertaining, and travel. She has visited all 50 states, mostly by car with her family. She has also travelled abroad to over 25 countries on 6 continents, where she experienced new cultures, created cherished memories, and made life-long friends.
For most of her adult life, she enjoyed living near lakes, first in Hermitage, TN near Percy Priest Lake and later living on Tim’s Ford Lake in Estill Springs, TN. She enjoyed spending time camping, boating, and enjoying friends and family on the water. She was a great cook and baker, famous for her German Chocolate Cake, banana pudding, and cashew brittle, to name a few.
She was preceded in death by her former husbands, Spencer Gay, Douglas Womack Fuqua, Sr., and Donald McCrary, her son David Brian Gay, her parents Michael and Gladys Rabuka, and her brother Mickey Rabuka (Gena).
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Madeline is survived by her children Douglas Womack Fuqua, Jr. (Jennifer), Spencer Gay, and David and Michael McCrary, her sister Sue Flynn, her beloved grandchildren Chloe (29) and Cayli Gay (25) and Morgan Fuqua (15), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Hermitage Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 4:00 p.m.
