Marie Ballard

Edith Marie Taylor Ballard, age 96 of Nashville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 15, 2011. Born on November 4, 1915 in Boonville, Indiana to the late Orville and Martha King Taylor, she moved to Nashville with her family in 1959. She loved to travel, quilt, read and laugh. She was a member of Donelson Heights United Methodist Church and the J.O.Y. Sunday School Class. Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, William "Bill" Ballard; son, Ronald "Ron" Ballard; brothers, Dorsey, Wayne and Ralph Taylor. Survived by her children, Linda Ballard, Dover, TN, Nancy (Bill) Bain, Chattanooga, TN and Greg (June) Ballard, Nashville, TN; daughter-in-law, Nita Ballard, Nashville, TN; 7 grandchildren, Paul (Paula) Ballard, Cookeville, TN, Jennifer (Brent) Weatherly, Kingston Springs, TN, David (Kate) Ballard, Lebanon, TN, Evan (Beth) Ballard, Fishers, IN, Lacey Ballard, Murfreesboro, TN, Nathan Bain, Norman, OK and Diane (Daniel) Dobbs, Chattanooga, TN; 6 great grandchildren, Amber (Ronnie) Dunn and Adrienne Ballard, both of Cookeville, TN, Dallas and Walker Weatherly, both of Kingston Springs, TN, Brady Ballard, Lebanon, TN and Bridget Ballard, Fishers, IN; sister, Ruth (George) Martin, Boonville, IN; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Hamilton and Bro. Van Richmond officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday and 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
