Marie Gladys Brown

Marie was preceded in death by husband, George W "Bud" Brown; parents, Thomas and Eunice Phillips Fletcher; brothers, Leo Fletcher, Alton Fletcher, and Phillip Fletcher.

Marie is survived by daughters, Kathy Brown Snider of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, and Sandra Brown Hickman (Stace) of Springfield, Tennessee; sons, George Brown (Joyce), David Brown (Sandra) of Nova Scotia, and Pete Brown of Old Hickory, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brittney Brown of Lebanon, Tennessee, Sloan Brown of Old Hickory, Tennessee, McGuire Brown USMC of Okinawa, Japan, and Jeffrey Brown (Shelley) of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; several great grandchildren; sister, Avis Dunbar of New Brunswick; and brother, Patrick Fletcher (Barbara) of Nova Scotia.

Marie’s life revolved around several things: her home, Dad, all of us, and her church family at Temple Baptist Church. She was a great cook and baker. Many Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners we all gathered together at Mom’s; What a great time of feast and fellowship. After we feasted, we would all take part of cleaning up. Marie’s daughters had taken up the mantle for the majority of the dinners, but she always participated in the cooking.

Marie had a passion for sharing the love of Jesus to everyone. She recently had a procedure performed, and told all of the nurses, anesthesia personnel, and Dr. All about the love of Jesus for each of them. It was truly her heart.

Marie taught by example. You always knew what she thought and how she felt. It was 2 weeks ago when she decided that she didn’t need to drive anymore. She handled the changes with such grace.

Now she is truly free, experiencing no pain, and is celebrating with family and friends who preceded her home. Her family raises her up and gives her praise. She will be missed here on the earth but we will see her again. The Lord that she faithfully served greeted her into eternity.

Well done, Marie, my daughter. You have ran your race and have won.

The Celebration of Marie's Life will be on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church, 110 Fellowship Lane, Old Hickory, Tennessee, at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of service.

Serving as pallbearers are David Brown, Stace Hickman, Pete Brown, Jeff Brown, Brittney Brown, and Sandra Brown Hickman.

Interment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
