Martha Imogene Baker

Martha Imogene Baker, age 82, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born on April 21, 1942 in Lawrenceburg, TN to her parents James Devon and Cordia Mae Shaffer Baker. She graduated from the Lawrence County High School and was a long-time resident of Hermitage and Lawrenceburg TN.

She worked at Aladdin in Nashville, where she met her future husband, Julius, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. She later retired from Service Merchandise. She was a wonderful Christian woman who will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and all that had the opportunity to know her

She is survived by her husband - Julius Baker, granddaughter - Taylor, and grandsons - Takoda and Logan, and other family members including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents - James Mann and Cordia May Shaffer, son - Julius “Tab” Baker Jr., sisters – Polly and Marie, and brother – Rayford.

A visitation for Martha will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Her Celebration of Life service will begin at 12 pm with Bro. Jimmy Carver officiating. Davy Baker, Chuck McNamee, Andy Byrnes and Logan Wallace will serve as pallbearers. Her burial will take place immediately following the service in the Garden of Devotion at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
