Mary Marshall Parker, age 87, of Hermitage, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023. She was born on October 6, 1935 in Morris Chapel, TN. Mary worked for AVCO, Lewis & Kuhlman Engineers in Nashville, Tennessee, and retired from the State of Tennessee, Department of Labor in Jackson, Tennessee.
Mary was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church where she was an active volunteer for the church. Her passions included "Room In The Inn", FUEL Ministry, and helping in the church office. She enjoyed bowling, card games especially ROOK, cooking, travel, animals, YY's church group, and most importantly, her grandchildren. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Joseph G. Marshall and Reba Butler Marshall, by her sister and brother-in-law Jo and Tom Brush and brother-in-law E. J. Hughes. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Billy Parker, of Hermitage, TN; by her son and daughter-in-law Joey Parker (Ann Stevenson) of Old Hickory, TN; by her grandchildren, Stevenson A. Parker of Nashville, TN, and William "Will" H. Parker of Knoxville, TN; by her sister, Luzell M. Hughes of Adamsville, TN; by her niece, Shelia B. (Donnie) Payne of Mt. Juliet; and her friend of 56 years, Barbara Sullivan of Nashville, TN.
There will be a visitation for Mary on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138 with her funeral service at 1:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Jimmy Hendricks and Rev. Chris Seifert officiating. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Morris Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 8880 Coffee Landing Road, Morris Chapel, TN 38361.
Active Pallbearers will be Darrell Howell, Kevin Owen, Chris Sullivan, Bruce Long, Bob Ramsey, Mike Eller. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Roberts, Bill Cooper, Mack Franklin, Gary Gentry, Melvin Hammer, Warren Cooksey and the Cornerstone Sunday School Class.
