Maurice Edward Powers

Maurice Edward Powers, age 88, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2015. Survived by his loving wife, Margaret Powers; son, Steve (Wanda) Powers; grandchildren, Stephanie Forsythe and Stephen Powers; step-grandchildren, John (Crissy) Tucker and Jason (Chutima) Tucker; great grandchildren, Chandra Bonee, Alexis Forsythe and Nick Forsythe; step-great grandchildren, Erin and Erica Tucker; great-great grandsons, Bentley Ledsinger and Brody Bonee. Mr. Powers was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired heat and air mechanic for the U. S. Court House. He was a member of Madison Masonic Lodge No. 762 and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the European and South Pacific Theaters as well as the occupation of Japan. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Shannon officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation with the family 3 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
