Sad to hear Coach Brown has passed. He was a wonderful man and coach. He gave me a second chance to be a better person, with a better attitude as a player, by kicking me off the baseball team in 1983. When I asked if I could try out again when the 1984 season rolled in, he said, "I was hoping you would Phillip", but with the understanding that I was to be a part of the team, and there is no "I" in "Team". I went on to be his starting left fielder for the 1984 Baseball State Champions. Just one of the life lessons I learned from Coach Brown. He will be dearly missed. God bless and watch over his loved ones. 

Mr brown was a fantastic principal at mt Juliet high school I always enjoyed seeing him everyday when he was principal the memory I keep very close to me is when he first taught me the five words BEAR PRIDE MT JULIET HIGH!

I had Coach Brown my Senior year at Two Rivers High School for Government/Economics.  He always made class fun and made sure that the boys in the class did not give the girls, all of 3 in the class, a hard time.  So many fond memories will stay with me forever.

I feel so blessed to have worked with Mr. Brown. He made my transition from TX to TN a joy.  I can honestly say that he was THE BEST administrator that I have worked for, hands down.

Brown family, know that he will never be forgotten and his name is mentioned with deep respect in deep south TX.

Carol. as you already know Mel was a good and blessed servant of God as are you.  We remember how you and Mel made us feel every Sunday with smiles  and hugs.  Always, inquiring about us if one of us was not at church. He will be missed by many but God wanted him to be with Him.   I found these words hanging on a plaque in my home and I wish the same for you and your family. 
"May blessings follow you through life wherever God may lead you,  May love be right beside you and may Joy and Peace precede you. May God's work light your path each day, while Grace and Patience guide your way. We love you very much Carol as we loved Mel.

Mel was our neighbor for many years.  We shared a love for morning walks.  He would walk in his driveway and me mine year after year.  Often his dog was with him.  He was so faithful and inspired me to continue my walks.  I will miss him.   Carroll and Mel have been wonderful neighbors.   

I remember Mel as a cousin and good family friend.  He was also one of my favorite teachers in high school; I was in his Government and Civics classes during my junior and senior years at Two Rivers.  Mel's family is very much in my prayers.

Mr Brown was a great mentor to all  his students he had high expectations of them so that they would have a successful future. My daughter graduated from MJHS in 2014 and at that time there were rumors that he might retire. I prayed that he wouldn’t, so she could finish High school under his leadership. She is now a Kindergarten teacher mentoring to her students as he did to her. He will always have a special place in our hearts. 🙏🏼❤️ 

Mr Brown was an amazing principal and man. We were blessed to have him as our oldest child’s principal. We looked forward to phone calls telling us to get ready for the school year and all the upcoming events. His care and love was felt by many, students and parents alike. His influence still endures and he is missed.
