2018 from several illnesses during the last three months of her life. Her daughters were with
her around the clock at McKendree Village Towers in Hermitage where she quietly passed away
that morning in her apartment. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jesse Howell and
Vera Gilliam Bryson, and her infant brother: William (Billy) Cleveland Bryson of Old Hickory, TN.
Also preceded in death by her husband of 35 years: Donald E. Robinson, of Nashville, TN, and
her husband of 32 years: Charles D. Edwards, of Old Hickory, TN.
Growing up in Old Hickory, she went to DuPont Grammar and DuPont High School. She was an
active member of the First Baptist Church, and as a young person, she accepted the Lord as her
savior. In 1954, she attended a Billy Graham Crusade at Vanderbilt Stadium where she
rededicated her life to the Lord.
After high school, she worked at Montgomery Ward Dept. Store in downtown Nashville. She
took voice and piano lessons (secretly dreaming of becoming a singer). She said many times
later, had she realized her dream, her life may have been different, and she may not have had
her girls. She married in 1949, became a new mom a year later in 1950, and over the next four
years, was blessed with three daughters.
She loved teaching her girls music and songs, preparing them for school, checking out books at
the library, going swimming, their fun times at the shopping center, and getting special treats at
the drug store. She became a grandmother in 1972, and a great-grandma in 1995. From the
80's on, she loved writing poems, sewing and making crafts for family and friends.
She is survived by her three daughters: Linda Edwards Garon (Jesse Garon), Katherine Edwards
Love, Connie Edwards, three grandchildren: Christopher DeMartini (Gina DeMartini), Keith
DeMartini, April Love, and seven great-grandchildren: Joey Clardy, Ashley Wilson, Noah
DeMartini, Evan Martin, Jillian DeMartini, Kylie Martin, and Aaron DeMartini. A special thank
you to Ralph Hubler, to all of her friends at McKendree, to Dr. Jean Lessly, Risa Elliott, and
everyone at AseraCare Hospice.
A private Cryptside Inurnment Service was held for family members on Sunday, October 28,
2018 at 2:00 in the afternoon at Hermitage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Chaplain Jeff
Wegner officiating. Memorial donations may be made to AseraCare Hospice, Adoration
Hospice, and McKendree Village Foundation.
