Norma June Elam Bass, 94, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away at the Residence of Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was born on May 10, 1930 in Williamson County, Tennessee, to parents, Samuel and Katie Elam.
Norma was a devoted member of Una Church of Christ where she was loved dearly. She was also a member of Fifty Forward at the Knowles Center and a devoted member of The Flying Ace Program at the Metropolitan Nashville Airport since 2001. Professionally, Norma was the Executive Secretary at Parman Oil Company from 1950 until 1999.
Norma, along with her late husband, James, loved to dance. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a great example of kindness, love, and devotion. She loved well . . . was well-loved . . . and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Norma is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Richard Elam; her mother, Katie (Clinard) Elam; and her husband, James Edward Bass. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Roehrich. Norma also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. This is not “Good-bye” – it’s “We will see you later.” Rest in peace, sweet Norma.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Friday, December 6, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Hermitage Funeral Home. The time of visitation will be followed by Norma’s Funeral Service at 11:00 AM in the Tulip Grove Chapel at the funeral home. Following the service, Norma will be laid to rest in the Garden of Gethsemane at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
