Norman Jay Emery came to us early on August 4, 1964 in Mobile, Alabama to parents Arland Archie Emery and Brenda Yancey Emery. We are saddened to announce that he has left us early as well passing away February 7, 2025.
Norm loved to travel and had a life filled with many paths. For those that crossed paths with Norm, you found a funny, kind, and caring friend. For those that crossed paths with him during his almost 25-year career with Kraft/Nabisco/Mondelez, you found a curious and brilliant tour guide.
Norm never planned his path, but always said he loved those that were on the path with him more than the destination. May the Lord, his Savior, lead him on his final path.
Norm was a devoted son, brother, husband, and father, and he will be deeply missed. He was a graduate of Kennesaw State University and was passionate about music and sports. Many may remember his SEC roundup emails where his love for Alabama football was shared graciously with fans from other teams. Norm loved baseball, especially his team the Atlanta Braves. Norm’s love for music, in particular guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, was shared with many.
In addition to his parents, Norm is survived by his wife of 28 years, Leah, son Harlan, brothers Alan (Joan) and Brad (Jana). Norm loved and was loved by his in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and niece.
A visitation for Norman will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory, TN 37138, followed by a memorial service at 6:00pm.
